WELCOME
..and here are a few things to keep in mind:
This blog contains mostly my poetry and a few thoughts from time to time. The thoughts will be entered when and wherever I feel necessary to keep things in proper order. Thoughts and things not belonging to me will be denoted with asterisks. Poems will be archived by the date which they were written, not by that which they were posted. I tend to update things a month or few after being written so as to keep current issues from wandering unattended around the web.
Enjoy...

“The difficulty of literature is not to write, but to write what you mean; not to affect your reader, but to affect him precisely as you wish.”
~ Robert Louis Stevenson

Jerk.
Apparently, I try too hard,
care too much.
I don't want to care less
I just want to know how
to deal with your uncaring
jerkishness.
care too much.
I don't want to care less
I just want to know how
to deal with your uncaring
jerkishness.
I will not do your bidding
I'm washing my hands of your business
You want me to do it and do it
your way.
You can have it, but I wash my hands
of this and your way.

Hell Pays by the Hour
I need to get away from this company
it's a downward spiral of dishonest people
and I don't want to go down with the sinking ship
It's an us against them mentality; win or quit
I refuse to be one of us and I'm not one of them
when push comes to shove, I'll be on the outside
I'm terrified I'm going to start fielding blame
I comprehend what my responsibilities are
but still defer to what is and is not my fault
I'm tired of making multi-layer ethical decisions
Daily
For my career
Where the honest one gets screwed
I feel like it's me against the company
Why does my resolve falter so much
In the face of authority
When I don't even care
I daily near the point of begging
To be fired

Wrong Side of the Bed
I'm mad at the world today
I need to go back to bed
because apparently
I woke up on the wrong side
I need to go back to bed
because apparently
I woke up on the wrong side

Me - End of a Decade
I'm unlike any other and original just like the rest. I fill my time with IT work, online classes, and SGA IT stuff. I love music, computers, and words. Hobbies include: riding my bike, mixing drinks, loving on my cat, various sorts of artsy things, fixing, and organizing stuff. I wish I had more time to read, but I always find time for xkcd. I like digging junk out of dumpsters and giving mine away (on freecycle). I cut my own hair. I like mushroom hats, classy people, and dry humor. Most of my clothing is dark, "earthy" colors, beyond that, I believe any day is a good day to wear black.

Take a Breath
Angry!
[Shoddy] shirt
[Witchy] sales people
Language, Sarah!
Broken computer.
Failing cellular.
Behind in classes.
Lists at work.
Patience.
Computer being fixed for free.
Waiting on a new phone.
Writing a paper.
Raise in my pay.

Car Boys
Long hair, tattoos, smoking while they work
Bunch of country boys, grew up
with cars for their play toys.
They enjoy what they do.
There is no lie in what they do,
how they look, the work they do.

Staff Meeting
You are adults.
Can't you be more mature?
God save me if I turn out like you.
Bad mouthing each other,
Smiling at their faces,
Do you have no regard?
Playing favorites.
Picking sides.
This is reminiscent of high school.
Listening to you,
it nearly makes me sick,
bashing each other like you do.
Give it up or find a way to deal.
You can't change anything
by whispering amongst each other.
