WELCOME
..and here are a few things to keep in mind:
This blog contains mostly my poetry and a few thoughts from time to time. The thoughts will be entered when and wherever I feel necessary to keep things in proper order. Thoughts and things not belonging to me will be denoted with asterisks. Poems will be archived by the date which they were written, not by that which they were posted. I tend to update things a month or few after being written so as to keep current issues from wandering unattended around the web.
Enjoy...

“The difficulty of literature is not to write, but to write what you mean; not to affect your reader, but to affect him precisely as you wish.”

Corn
So, I'm not sleeping tonight. Not by choice. I think I would if I could. It is a result of some combination of messed up sleep schedule and several hundred mgs of caffeine throughout the day. I've been wedding planning in my head and on paper some, played some scrabble on my phone, and did attempt to sleep. In my head, for some reason, I started going through what food I have. I decided I was hungry, and that I haven't had sufficient veggies lately, and so landed, mentally, on the frozen corn in the recesses of my freezer. I thawed out some corn that my mother gave me many years ago - I've been making my way through it slowly - and added some spice. And so, here I sit, enjoying my spicy, July of 2008 corn, at 4am.
